Brief history

Vietnam has more than 4000 years of rich history. It is one of the countries that constituted the former Indochina. Visitors’ breath is taken away by the historical monuments, whose design and construction were influenced by the powerful civilizations of South-East Asia and particularly by the Chinese Empire. The monuments built during the Chinese supremacy are among the most beautiful. The Vietnamese culture was also influenced in a major way during the French occupation in the 19th century. The most painful years for Vietnam in recent times were 1954-1975, during the American war. The consequences of this bloodshed will remain forever engraved in minds of all Vietnamese.

In spite of the tragic past, the country has quickly recovered and started working on its better „self“. Tourism is rapidly developing. Visitors are enthralled not only by splendid scenery and colourful countryside (consisting of rice fileds, white sand beaches, turqoise sea, and mountain ranges with lush vegetation), but also by the specific culture, traditions, and magnificent cuisine. Vietnam’s coastline measures abround 3000 km, thus presenting paradise for those who revel in the sea connected activities.
