‘A nature’s wonder’ is definitely an appropriate term for this jewel of northern Vietnam – the Halong Bay. Thousands of tiny islands are scattered around the Tonkin Gulf. The sight of them is absolutely enchanting. Mysterious caves, gorgeous cliffs in emerald waters of the bay.
The bay is listed as one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. In 2011 the exquisite Halong Bay was proclaimed one of the new seven wonders of the world. The emerald waters of the bay are speckled with numerous tiny rocky islands that are surrounded by nearly three thousand limestone reefs. Inside each of these small stony craggy islands are hidden tens of breath-taking caves festooned with fantastical stalagmites and stalactites.
